I love that! Wildlife is such a precious way to experience joy because they only know the present - yesterday a Stirling Jay squawked at me from the bird bath - I imagine it was complaining about how cold the water was.
I've always (and still) struggle to find joy and enjoy life if I didn't "earn" it. I know it stems from capitalism and the way I was raised, but it's still feels true, but I'm working on how to change this mindset because the worst thing would be to die filled with "what-ifs".
Just for today - dance your ass off to a favorite song - I recommend my daily song, but regardless, pick one that you can't help but move to - give yourself permission to be present with the joy for the entirety of the song and know that if that's all you can manage today, you have done enough.
I saw a squirrel in a tree on my walk this morning and it was chattering out loud. It made me smile :)
