Most of us are experts at “What if-ing” ourselves into a corner.
What if I mess this up?
What if they ghost me?
What if I can’t handle the success?
What if I’m wrong?
What if they say no?
And listen, those are valid. Your nervous system isn’t being dramatic—it’s trying to keep you safe. But let’s not confuse safety with staying small.
Because what if is also a portal.
What if you walked into that sales call calm and radiant?
What if they loved your offer and couldn’t wait to say yes?
What if they told you your work is exactly what they’ve been looking for?
What if the money comes so easily, you almost laugh?
What if the next aligned client is already on their way?
What if any nos you receive are because your “or betters” are on the way?
What if your next bold move changes everything (in the best way)?
We can use “What if” to wall ourselves in—or to open a door.
What if your dreams are closer than you think?
Other places we tend to what-if ourselves into contraction instead of expansion:
Before launching something new
When raising prices
While hiring or delegating
Before leaving a toxic situation
While navigating visibility and vulnerability online
When choosing to rest instead of hustle
Anytime we’re making ourselves the main character in our own lives
Let’s flip the script.
What if it’s safe to want more?
What if your sacred work is meant to be fully supported?
What if your “too much” is your magic?
Let’s start asking better questions.
