Profit is Protest™

Now is your time to become unreasonably resourced.

I want good people - the kind, courageous, compassionate people - to have a fuckton of money.

It really is that simple.

I want rebels, healers, creatives, coaches, and changemakers to become unreasonably resourced because resources create choices, and choices create agency. Wealth lets you hire well, pay well, rest when you need to rest, weather hard seasons, invest in ideas before anyone else understands them, give generously, walk away from what violates your values, and build the things you wish already existed.

And when resources flow into the hands of people who care deeply about other humans, their impact rarely stops at the edges of their own lives. They employ people. Support communities. Fund causes. Challenge broken practices inside their industries. Create new models. They have enough room to ask, What would I do differently if survival weren’t making all my decisions for me?

That question lives at the heart of Profit is Protest.

This publication is for people who are ready to have a more honest relationship with money. People who want to understand their numbers without turning them into a character trial. People examining the stories they inherited about wealth, goodness, generosity, ambition, pricing, and how much they’re allowed to want. People who are increasingly unwilling to build businesses that require their own depletion as proof they care.

You may already have a successful business and wonder why it still feels so damn hard. Money may be coming in without creating the spaciousness you thought it would. You may know you need to look more closely at your numbers while some part of you keeps finding extremely creative reasons to avoid them. Or you may simply know that the way you’ve been doing things cannot be the way you keep doing them.

Wherever you’re entering the conversation, you’re welcome here.

The Soul & Science of Money™

I’ve spent more than thirty years looking at financial statements, building businesses, advising entrepreneurs, and watching what happens when people begin to understand their money and reclaim their financial agency.

I’m Shaneh Woods, founder of Prosperity First. I’m a CFO and accountant who also works with nervous systems, money stories, energy, intuition, Human Design, and the beautifully complicated human being behind the spreadsheet.

That combination matters because your numbers can tell us an extraordinary amount. They can reveal patterns, margins, cash flow, capacity, pricing problems, opportunities, and risk. They can tell us what happened and help us model what might happen next.

Then you have to make a decision.

And you bring your whole self to that decision: your history, desires, values, fears, intuition, responsibilities, relationships, nervous system, and the quiet knowing you may have learned to distrust because you couldn’t prove it in a spreadsheet.

I call the work of bringing those worlds together The Soul & Science of Money™.

Here, we talk about nervous systems and financial statements, pricing and power, capacity and capitalism, intuition and data, receiving and revenue. We examine the money stories you inherited alongside the arithmetic required to build a business that can sustain the life you actually want.

And you never need to clean up the truth before you bring it here.

Bring the messy books. Bring the bank balance you’ve been avoiding. Bring the goal you didn’t hit, the debt you wish weren’t there, the desire that feels wildly unreasonable (fuck reasonable, you aren’t built for reasonable!), the business model that stopped working, and the question you’re afraid you should already know how to answer.

We’ll look at what is actually there. We’ll tell the truth without turning it into a judgment about who you are or what you “deserve”. And we'll help you see your options clearly so you can choose what comes next.

We’ve got you.

What happens when good people become profoundly supported and deeply resourced

Prosperity First exists in the intersection between philosophy and arithmetic, so results matter to me.

In 2025, Prosperity First clients collectively took home $2.8 million, nearly twice what they took home the year before. I’ve watched a fitness studio owner increase their take-home tenfold. I’ve watched a DEI expert land a $850,000 contract. I’ve watched founders discover that the business they believed couldn’t afford to pay them could, once we understood what was actually happening in the numbers and began making different decisions.

Those outcomes didn’t all come from the same strategy because these businesses aren’t interchangeable. Sometimes the lever is pricing. Sometimes it’s margin, capacity, an offer, a boundary, an ask, a system, or finally looking at information that’s been sitting in the accounting software, waiting to be useful.

The work is discovering your lever and trusting yourself enough to pull it.

That’s why Profit is Protest moves freely between money and meaning. A financial strategy that requires you to abandon yourself eventually becomes very expensive. A beautiful vision without enough resources to sustain it becomes fragile.

We are building businesses capable of holding both.

Welcome to Profit is Protest.

A few times a week, I write about money, profitability, financial agency, nervous systems, pricing, power, broken business models, aligned action, receiving, wealth, and what becomes possible when good people decide they are allowed to be well resourced.

Sometimes we’ll follow the money through a system and ask who benefits from the way things have always been done. Sometimes we’ll pull apart an inherited belief and see whether it still deserves a place in your life. Sometimes we’ll talk strategy and numbers. Sometimes I’ll lovingly tell you to send the fucking proposal. And sometimes I’ll remind you that rest, pleasure, receiving, changing your mind, and sitting quietly long enough to hear yourself think can also be extraordinarily productive financial decisions.

Strategy with substance. Rebellion with reverence.

A digital oasis that feels like coffee with a fiercely loving friend.

Prosperity Breakthrough? Say Less

However you enter, the larger mission remains the same.

I want you profitable enough to breathe. Resourced enough to choose. Supported enough to stop carrying everything alone. Rested enough to imagine. Financially secure enough to take principled risks, make generous decisions, fund audacious ideas, and say no when no is the only aligned decision.

I want you to have enough surplus that when you see something in your business, your community, your industry, or the wider world that you want to change, you have resources available to do something about it.

That is what I mean when I say become unreasonably resourced.

Your prosperity gives you choices. Your choices give you agency. And what you choose to do with that agency can reach far beyond you.
